Building a logo and monogram for a balloon and backdrop decorator
Project Overview
Pop & Flora is a balloon and backdrop decorator that transforms events into visual moments with charm and elegance. The brand needed a logo that looked elegant — something that would reflect both the joy of balloons and the softness of florals.
I was brought in to design a custom logo and monogram that could live beautifully across their digital and print presence. The result? A mark that feels curated and calm.
My Process
1. Understanding the Brand
From the very beginning, I focused on what makes Pop & Flora feel special: the delicate balance of celebration and sophistication. The founder wanted something clean but not generic—something that carried personality.
2. Concept Development
Instead of creating drastically different directions, I refined one strong concept into two thoughtful variations. Both used the same illustrated balloon bouquet but played with composition—shifting the monogram’s placement and experimenting with minimal colour accents.
3. Final Design
The selected version features a custom-drawn balloon bouquet tied with a ribbon, surrounded by subtle floral and sparkle details. The logomark is paired with a serif wordmark, separated by a thin divider to add structure. It feels professional but still warm, ideal for use on event signage, tags, and digital platforms.
Monogram
While the monogram is integrated into the primary logo design, a simplified version of it can also be used independently across small-scale applications—like stickers, tags, stamps, or watermarks. Its compact form keeps the branding cohesive without losing the identity’s charm.
Colour Direction
We established a foundational tone using a warm, soft beige:
HEX: #EBE3DB
This neutral base sets the tone for the brand’s visual identity—elegant, calming, and versatile. While the overall palette remains minimal, it’s grounded in soft neutrals to ensure adaptability across a range of mediums and event settings. This allows the brand’s vibrant decor work to take center stage, while the identity remains cohesive and refined in any context.
Outcome
This project brought together thoughtful design, playful illustration, and a clear brand direction that reflects exactly who Pop & Flora is. The final logo and monogram offer a flexible, elegant identity that works beautifully across both digital and physical touchpoints.
By focusing on soft visuals and balanced composition, I was able to deliver a brand mark that feels timeless, joyful, and uniquely theirs. It’s a brand they can confidently build on—whether it’s printed on signage, shared on Instagram, or wrapped around a bouquet of balloons.
